The Montserrat Mountains, located 35 minutes away from Barcelona, are, doubtlessly, the most representative of Catalonia for they gather unique beauty with important cultural and spiritual aspects emblematic to Catalonia. Among its assets, we can choose the millenary Benedictine monastery that hosts the 12th century venerated black virgin, patron Saint of Catalonia, and pilgrimage destination for thousands of devotes each year. We will also discover small chapels anchored in beautiful places. The geological formations that shape the unique profile of Montserrat are home to a variety of animal species, and common destination for mountain climbing lovers.

From our meeting point we will go to the foot of Montserrat and we will ascend up to the monastery by the cable car, which with 1350 m, it overcomes slopes of up to 45%, revealing along the way superb landscapes. From the monastery we will start our tour on foot along a road that will present us with stunning aerial views. Soon after, the road becomes a path leading to the beautiful chapel of Sant Benet. We will resume our walk to Sant Salvador's pathway, where we will enjoy invaluable views of the mountain, something unthinkable when watched from a distance. Along the road, we are likely to find wild goats over the steep crags. We will follow the route to Sant Jeroni, which, with its 1.224m high, it is Montserrat's highest point and will grant us a 360Âº view of the whole massif. We will return along the road of Sant Jeroni with offers new perspectives on the slopes of Montserrat until we arrive to the monastery, that can be visited inside and see the famous image of the virgin.
