Walk: La Mola, Catalonia at your feet
Duration: 4 hours
Sant Llorenc del Munt i l'Obac Natural Park
This park is over 13.000 hectares and it is located in the Catalonian coastal mountain range. Its unique geological features are present everywhere. Its singularity lies on the shapes of its topography, with needles, monoliths, and crevices that accompany us along the way and that will make climbers extremely happy. Its proximity to Barcelona makes it a must for hikers and mountain lovers alike. Inside, we will find small dwellings of medieval origin, such as Mura, or Talamanca, which with their old towns kept in excellent condition, their castles, and Romanesque churches constitute a historical patrimony of great value.
Price: 60 euros
From our meeting point we will go to the park and start our tour on foot from the highest part of the protected area. Along the road amongst ever-green oaks, we will be able to see the singular geology of the area, as well as great views over the Pyrenees Mountains and the Montserrat massif. Further up, we will see the imposing figure of La Mola, which is the highest point of the area with its 1.107m high. From the top, we will enjoy one of Catalonia's most privileged views, with Barcelona and the Mediterranean on one side, and the inner mountains on the other. After enjoying the sights, we will return along the same road. If so desired, we can drive and visit some of the little villages in the park.
