Since its inauguration in 1970, Cordobés has always been faithful to its commitment of professional quality. One of the main characteristics of this genuine 'Tablao', or flamenco dance theatre, has always been the presentation in different programs of the most talented artists of each period of time.
Barcelona's Tablao Cordobés is part of the small, elite group of 'tablaos' that serve as living, vibrant schools of flamenco, following in the fine tradition of Silvero Franconetti's tablao in Seville. These 'tablaos' act as forums where talent and creativity continue to evolve.
If you choose to join us sooner for dinner, we'll serve a delicious buffet composed of cold dishes (a variety of starters and salads), hot dishes (stews of meat and fish and our specialty paella) and a great assortment of desserts. Typical Spanish and Mediterranean kitchen.
In the 70's CORDOBÉS presented in Barcelona two mythical figures in the history of flamenco: Camarón de la Isla and Farruco, and later on El Güito, Manolete, Manuela Carrasco, La Tati, Chocolate, Juan Villar, Lole y Manuel...that are today regarded as masters.
In the 80's, Milagros 'Mila de Vargas' and Antonio el Toleo, along with other great artists left a deep mark of high professional quality.
In the 90's CORDOBÉS presented at the beginning of their career Eva la Yerbabuena and Belén Maya, Israel Galván and Rafael de Carmen, Antonio Toleo, Enrique el Extremeno, Montse Cortés, Miguel Poveda, Rafael de Utrera, Pedro Sierra, José Luis Montón and a neverending list of artists have learned and studied the secrets of flamenco.
Following the tradition, CORDOBÉS presents FLAMENCO FUTURO. The production has been made in Cádiz with the script of Mr. Luis Adame and direction of Mrs. Charo Cruz.
